Last Sunday Harry and I met our friends Sarah and Calvin at a local orchard/pumpkin patch.
It was the perfect fall day.
“A bus!”
Calvin is such a sweetheart.
This kid is fearless.

We went on our summer vacation earlier this month; back to Michigan to spend a few days on a lake with my dad and family.
Last year it was pure folly trying to get a picture of my nephew, niece, and Harry. This was, seriously, the best shot:
But this year, they were much better models. A lot of precious cargo on these steps:
(Also, I can really tell the difference between my 5D shots last year, and this year’s with the Rebel. I miss my good camera. Sob.)
Harry and I started weekly swim lessons last month, and Aaron took off work this past Friday morning so that he could join us. It was so fun to get to watch him!
(Warning: lots of pictures today!)
He is so relaxed in the water; very chill.
We do the same thing in the same order every class. (Toddlers love repetition!) One of the activities is to go around in a circle and let the water from the bucket drip on the kids’ heads. Aaron does a very good “monkey cheeks.”
Harry has gotten so good and letting us put his face in the water. Such a big boy!
We practice putting hands on the side of the pool and they learn how to “monkey walk” down the wall. Good safety stuff.
He floats on the barbel and tries to get the toy. Teaches them that kicking their legs and moving their arms makes them move in the water.
The final activity is jumping off the magic carpet. Previous to this he always tried to sit down, and I had to lift him off. But this week he stood up and walked across it and jumped! I was so proud.

Some neighbors had a little kid-friendly get together today, so we put Harry in his costume, popped him the wagon and walked down there for a little holiday fun.
(P.S. You’re welcome.)
One of the neighbors made these. Aren’t they fun?
They had several different games set up. This one was “dig through this pile of hay to look for prizes.” Harry was too little, of course, but he liked watching the bigger kids go crazy looking for pennies and candy.
I don’t know about you, but he’s the cutest little dragon I’ve ever seen.

When my mom was here earlier this month, we spent some time decorating for fall. I love how our porch turned out!
I found the inspiration for that wreath on Pinterest. A quick trip to Michael’s, where all of the Fall stuff was 50% off, and we had everything we needed to make our own. I really love how it turned out.
I’d purchased the light up pumpkins at Target, and we got the straw bale the afternoon we went to the pumpkin farm. We have an exterior outlet, but I wanted a way to block it so that you weren’t seeing the cords and the plug. The straw bale does the trick!
Harry likes spending time on the porch:
Maybe sticking his tongue out helps with balance?
He’s getting so much better at standing. He’ll switch off which hand he uses to hold on, so I know pretty soon he’s just going to let go all together.
We’ve had a wonderful fall here in Minnesota, but I know its days are numbered. So we’re going to enjoy our pumpkins and our time outside sans coats while we can!
