Somehow it’s already Friday night. I am snuggled up in two blankets, because I am fighting a cold, and because Minnesota finally feels like Minnesota this winter.
Last Saturday I told Aaron that all I wanted to do was vacuum … and go to Target by myself. He obliged.
Otherwise we just hung out in our PJs all day. One of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday.
I’ve jumped on the green smoothie bandwagon. They’re pretty good! We’re now using coconut water in them, which helps make them not so thick. I recommend.
On Sunday, Harry had the best seat in the house for football watching:
It was a busy week at work, but luckily, there are also plenty of runs to Caribou Coffee:

InstaFriday — 2012 Edition

I can’t believe New Year’s was less than a week ago. It feels like it’s been 2012 for awhile now, right?
We spent NYE at a friend’s house with six kiddos ages 1 to 8. It was super fun, even though I still can’t believe I’m the crazy person who kept her 1 year old up till midnight. But come on, there was a balloon drop!
And of course little stinker was up at his normal time (6:30 am) on New Year’s Day.
Aaron went to the final Vikings game of the season, so Harry and I called it a stay-in-our-PJs day.
On Monday, Aaron and I both had the day off, so we just hung out at home and ran a few errands. Oh, and did some chores:

Today I moved from a cube into an office. With a door. I haven’t had one of those in more than two years. Fun! As I was unpacking all my frames, I realized I have … a lot.
Our Week in Pictures — InstaFriday

Last Friday Harry and I got dressed up and went into Minneapolis for lunch with Aaron and the Santa display at the downtown Macy’s.
My friend Karla and her daughter Greta met up with us. We had lunch in the Skyroom, and then went to see the Big Man.
I have mixed feelings on Santa and have thought about blogging about it, but other (smarter) people have already said it better.
So even though we intend to make sure Harry knows that Santa is pretend and a character, much like Mickey Mouse or the worlds of Hogwarts and Narnia, I still teared up in this moment.
My boy is so gregarious and sweet. He had that Santa and the photographer wrapped around his finger in 5 seconds flat.
On Saturday, I spent the entire day scrapbooking at my friend Tina’s:
I worked on our wedding scrapbook, and it feels so good to have so much of it done now. I thought it would never happen.
On Sunday night, we finally trimmed our tree. It sat bare for more than a week. Which is pretty much on par for us. Sweet Aaron strung all the lights; something I normally do but uffda, I just couldn’t bring myself to do it this years.

A Week in the Life — InstaFriday

A week around here goes so quickly. Does it seem that way to anyone else? At work we’re always planning a few months ahead (which means I’ve been thinking about Christmas since September); add in Harry wrangling and being olde and time moves faster each day.
Fridays with Harry are always, hands down, my favorite day of the week.
When I catch him napping like this, it about does me in.
Last Friday, the weather was crazy nice, so we hit an outdoor shopping area near us. Harry had a Baby Mum Mum to tide him over till lunch:
I try to get most of Harry’s clothes second hand, and I find quite a bit that way, but I also like to go into Baby Gap to check out their sales, because I’ve found their items hold up the best and fit him well.
The sweaters and layers. Too cute. TOO CUTE, Baby Gap. (But I’m still not going to pay full price.)
We had lunch at Qdoba where Harry mowed down some rice and beans. If that was all he ever ate, he’d be happy.
We went to church on Saturday night (we love Saturday night services!), and Harry crawled around the lobby like he owned the place. He’s such a good crawler these days. Aaron followed behind him, and at one point after he’d crawled all the way across the entire lobby, Aaron carried him back to me and said “He just crawled like a thousand baby miles.”
What, your whole family goesn’t get decked out in NFL gear every Sunday?
The amazing fall weather continued through the whole weekend, so we took a family walk while a Pinterest recipe (Chicken Tortilla Soup) cooked in the slow cooker:
