3 Weeks Old — Foto Friday

I think that I am in denial that in one week, I will have a month-old baby. That is an infant, not a newborn. Oh my, I can’t believe it.

He is three weeks old today, and already so changed from the sleepy newbie he was just two weeks ago when we got home. The eye contact slays me.

I love his funny faces! (And look at those rolls! My skinny baby now has rolls!)

Argh.

This is a good photo illustration of why newborn sessions should always been booked within the first 10 days. By three weeks, they’ve already lost that curled-up, bendy newborn-ness. He loves to stretch out now whenever I lay him down.

Not curly anymore!

It’s just an amazing miracle, how quickly they grow when they’re this young. Now when I put him into the Sleepy Wrap, he wants to have his head out and look around for a bit before putting it on my chest. Like a little joey kangaroo peeking out of the pouch.

Neck control!

Oh do I love this boy.

Cupcake Love — Foto Friday

My Canon 100mm macro lens came in the mail yesterday, which meant I had to try it out immediately! My birthday cupcakes made the perfect subject:

I absolutely love it! Can’t wait to use it at my newborn session this weekend.

Dog Life — Foto Friday

Buddy Comedy

I rented a wide angle lens (the Canon 20mm 2.8) to take pictures of our new house, and managed to sneak in a few dog shots while I had it.

This was taken in our old back yard. I put the camera on the ground and crossed my fingers that it’d focus!

Shot with a 20mm 2.8 on a Canon 5D. ISO = 200 Aperture = 2.8 SS = 1/400. Edited in Lightroom.

It’s Ours! — Foto Friday

91|365: It's Ours!

We closed on Wednesday! It’s ours!

A moving van arrives today from Ohio with stuff from my mom’s house—wedding gifts she’s had since my Ohio shower; furniture from my grandmother; a few other odd and ends. Tomorrow we move from our current house to the new one. I can’t wait!

Thanks for coming along for the ride. It was a great experience, and I would recommend building to anyone who’s in the market for a new house.

*Shot with a Canon 20mm 2.8  that I rented. I like it!
