I found Gussy Sews on Twitter (though I really can’t remember exactly how) and immediately fell in love with her girly, ruffly products. She taught herself to sew just 18 months ago, and recently left her day job to run her business full time. Amazing, right?

So when it came time to choose what I wanted for a little birthday gift, I knew it had to be one of these adorable ruffle damask totes.

It’s very “me,” I think, and perfect for summer. (Nevermind that she said pink is her most popular color. I still think it is very “me”!) I totes love it. (Ba dum bum.)

Gussy {aka Maggie} and I met for coffee yesterday, and she is as adorable in person as she is online. Like me, she is new to the Cities and was also a 2008 bride.

In addition to picking up my sweet new tote, I also purchased an adorable wristlet as my gift to one of YOU.

Isn’t it perfectly darling? I had a brief thought about keeping it for myself, but it is just itching to be shared.

Meet my friend Kate.

Kate is a graphic designer at the church, owns a photography studio with her also-super-hip husband, is super crafty and has great style. (She also has a fantastic laugh and is one of the many reasons I love to go to work every day.)

Earlier this year Kate started crafting these adorable little fleur pins, and after getting a bajillion compliments and requests for them, started an Etsy shop where she sells them: Beautiful Mess by Design.
