Remember When I Had a Blog?

There is nothing more meta than bloggers blogging about blogging, but here I go.

Life has a way of happening, whether you blog about it or not, and life has certainly been happening around here.

The same day that Harry got his haircut (two weeks ago already!), he came down with a 103 degree fever, and sadly for us all: Hand, Foot, and Mouth disesase. Oh, it was miserable.

Post-fever bedhead:

I stayed home with him on Monday, and we snuggled and watched a lot (A LOT) of television:

By Wednesday, he had blisters on the outside of his mouth.

And by the weekend I HAD IT. Adults rarely catch HFM, but I do like to be special!

IMG_4741

It was seriously awful. I felt like a monster, what with the throat blisters and all.

And then, because I’m a crazy person, it was time for our garage sale.

May 2 was our fourth anniversary (what!), and we celebrated by setting up for said garage sale. But at least there were cupcakes!

I was able to do a little garage sale-ing myself, and got Harry a slide for outside and a Little People barn. Not bad for $16.

On Saturday, my dad and stepmom came into town for a quick visit. Love how much my dad loves Harry. Harry has some devoted grandpas. Of that there is no doubt.

I am about a month behind in Project Life, and my house is a disaster. (Truth.) And of course it’s been nothing but crickets around here, this blog where I never blog.

I’ll do better. Maybe by June.

Lions, Giraffes & Crafts — Giveaway

Updated with the winner: Congrats to Jill, comment #15!

My friend Emily Steffen is an amazing photographer. I love it when her work pops up in my Facebook newsfeed.

She is also a crafter extraordinaire, and just all-around inspiring. Really. Even if you’re not a photographer, you should follow her blog.

So a few weeks ago, she posted an album of some of her new handmade items, and when I saw the below image, I squealed and said “MINE!”

Turns out she is opening an Etsy store (go check out those adorable plush cameras!), and because she is lovely and kind, she made Harry his very own set.

I mean, really.

I just adore them. (And the baby too, but y’all know that. And yes, I matched his diaper and Baby Legs to his new lovies. Don’t judge me!)

LRedit-9508

And guess what, this pair of adorable little creatures could be yours!

Just leave a comment below, and you’re entered. Simple as that!

What Says Spring Better Than Ruffles?

Y’all. It’s been a long winter. A LONG WINTER. In fact, there were snow flurries on Wednesday night. APRIL 27. (As I was running/walking outdoors with a running group just for moms. More on that later.) Yeah. Winter.

But you know what always puts a little “spring” in my step? One of my Gussy Sews headbands.

LRedit-9360

I just love them. They’re cute, ruffly and they make me feel girly and fun. (And sometimes I feel like I’m in a walking fog and that I smell like spit up, so I need all the help I can get.)

I always get compliments when I wear it.

Plus, I just love Miss Gussy and her signature ruffles. (And I know you do too!)

LRedit-9397

So to celebrate what was hopefully winter’s last gasp, (please oh please!) and the fact that I’ll probably get to wear flip flops today, I purchased THREE Gussy headbands to give away to THREE of you!

Want to enter? Just leave a comment below telling me what you love about spring—simple as that!
