1. I really wanted to go to Blissdom, but now that the dates are here, I’m glad I didn’t try to swing it. Not only do we all have colds, but between work and everything else we have going on, it would’ve been really hard to go away for a few days. (That said I know all the tweets will still make me jealous!)
2. I rarely use soap on Harry during his baths. (We bathe him every other day and I use soap probably every other bath.) I figure he’s not exactly working up a sweat anywhere, and he’s not playing outside right now, so meh. I almost never wash his hair, and it looks really great, so I figure why start?
3. Speaking of his hair, people are starting to make passive aggressive comments about how long it’s getting. It makes me want to never cut it! (Though I know eventually we will have to at least trim it I GUESS.)
4. We are rewatching the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series; starting the final season (7) tonight. I still love it. The writing is so clever. Go on, judge away, I am not ashamed.
5. I loved all the conversation last week’s confessions generated. Thanks for the rash tips. Guess what? HE STILL HAS IT. We have his 15-month well visit on Friday, so hopefully she can at least tell me if it’s yeast or just run of the mill toddler rash. I did order some probiotics to start giving to him, just in case it’s related his diet.
6. Oh disposables. I am very sick of you. (See above never-ending rash.)
7. Is anyone interested in a baby-led weaning recap/wrap up? I figure these days he’s really just “eating,” so I haven’t written about how it’s going in a long time, but I thought it might be nice to sum up our experience. (Before I forget, because I forget a lot these days. There’s so much to remember!)
If you’ve got anything to confess, let it out. It feels good.

My younger brother didn’t get his first haircut until he was FIVE years old–just before he started kindergarten. My mom combed his hair into two braids every day.
Re: the hair… You already know how we roll in this house. I have been known to tell people that we will cut it sometime after they stop bringing it up.
I love my boys long hair and even the trims make me sad. Hang on to it, Harry is gorgeous with that long hair!
I love his hair! Harry won’t be a baby for long, so just enjoy that full head of beautiful dark hair. Remember Sean’s curls, Charlie & Fefi didn’t cut his hair until kindergarten.
I’d love to read the BLW wrap-up! I’m about to start BLW with my son.
I love Harry’s hair. He is just so adorable.
We didn’t cut L’s hair until about 17months. I loved the curls he had going. But then we started getting the girl comments even though we said “he” or “L”. Annoying. I still miss those curls.
Oh and as for Buffy, I am a fan. Have been since episode 1. I want to watch them (and get Kevin to watch them) again. Although I have a feeling I’d be too busy quoting and not actually watching.
Yes, some little girl called him a girl the other day. Meh.
Don’t cut his hair until you are ready. He doesn’t know the difference and it’s up to you, anyway. AND it’s so cute. He’s just so gorgeous and his hair is awesome.
(I’m taking a similar stand, but in reverse, because I don’t want MLH’s hair to grow out, yet. I love it the way it is! Dang, nosy people, let me have this one thing!)
We got those comments about Arden’s hair SO frequently. It bugged big time. And, he has better hair than anyone I know, so take that, hair on boys haters!
Mary is fighting the same thing about the hair. And no matter what Henry has on, everyone thinks he’s a girl! He’s clearly a little boy with surfer dude hair. Mary just laughs at them. Hee.
My confession is I bought a bag of Reese Eggs Tuesday and almost the whole bag is gone and, no, I haven’t shared a single one. SO shameful. Re: Harry, his hair is precious!!!
Let’s not talk about the pb cups I bought at TJ’s on Sunday.
My confession – today I vacuumed my whole house because it is louder than my kids. I was getting to that place where I felt like I couldn’t think…so I vacummed.
I barely use soap for baths either, it just doesn’t seem to matter either way and no soap is easier. Although if we are confessing my baby barely gets a bath a week.
I second the “no soap” and infrequent baths. Winter is so hard on skin! I’ve done a version of the oil cleansing method- lather the girls down with cocobutter mixed with coconut oil and then let them play in the tub. Super soft skin after that!
I know I’m late commenting on BLW, but I would love to read a post about that. It sounds exactly like what I want to do once this baby is born.
